My Preschool Princess

Lauren's first day of school is tomorrow. I tried to take her shopping for school clothes this weekend, but I don't think I'll be doing that again. The only things she wanted were summer dresses and tap shoes. Every time I picked out an outfit for her to try on she would say, "I don't like your ideas." Finally I let her pick out a polka-dot dress and pink leggings. She said (with great joy), "Now you have the same idea I have!" She must think I have terrible fashion sense. Here's her four-year-old picture.

Angela, she's a cutie. I have a little 5 year old neice that is just like that. Loves her girlie-girl clothes. *sigh* I have only boys, which means buying for durability. Are these gonna last through games of football on the lawn, or climbing trees?
Is it hard for you sending her off to preschool?
It's always harder for my husband to send the kids to school for the first time than it is for me. I'm excited for Lauren to make new friends and develop independence. And especially this year, I'm homeschooling my older two, so sending her to preschool keeps me from feeling guilty about ignoring her.
And I know what you mean about boys clothes. I didn't know how my son got holes in his knees so quickly until I started volunteering for recess duty last year. Every time a ball rolled away from a game of foursquare or basketball, he crawled after it on the asphault. Boys are so different from girls.
She's a cute one! Tap shoes? Is she in classes or do they just look interesting? LOL!
What a sweet picture!! She cracks me up. :o)
