My Heroine

I once read a trilogy of romance novellas based on fairytales like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. I've always wanted to rewrite The Scarlet Pimpernel with a modern day female protagonist so I'm working with my agent to put together a trilogy of romantic suspense novellas based on the classics of literature. The Scarlet Fingernail is my favorite idea so far. What do you all think? What kind of catchy, contemporary titles can you come up with for Robin Hood or The Counte of Monte Cristo?

I also have to add here, that my daughter had a great idea for a story of her own. She wants to write Puppyhontas--a puppy Pocahontas. How cute is that?

I'm totally in love with The Scarlet Fingernail and I can't wait to read it!!

I'm also totally in love with Puppyhontas. I'd read that, too. :o)

I've got nothing for you at the moment, but I'll be thinking about the other titles. Probably whether I want to or not. LOL

Love the Scarlet Fingernail (and the female protagonist)!

How about COUNTING THE MONTE CRISTOS...about an overweight woman that loves Monte Cristo sandwiches, but who after getting mistreated by people her whole life, goes on an extreme weight loss regimen, becomes drop-dead gorgeous, inherits a fortune and plots out her revenge on those that had hurt her in the past?

Robbin' the 'hood? Rob in the 'hood? A modern day twist on the story set in the inner city, with some gallant young con-artist robbing from the rich to help the poor?

Puppyhontas would be darling. From the producers of BALTO...

Becky, that is great! I remember eating Monte Cristos when I was little. The idea is hilarious, but I'm trying for a romantic suspsense angle. Robin in the Hood would work. How fun.

I love the Scarlet Fingernail!

I like Becky's idea for Monte Cristo, but you could use Monte Crisco for a fun pun!
