Blast from the Past

My best friend from elementary school visited me today. I haven't seen her for 15 years. But like she said, "It doesn't seem that long ago."
We had so many great memories...slumber parties where we played truth or dare and got one girl to eat cat food, the first time I heard about sex (Naomi: Sex is when you take off your clothes and roll around. Me: Gross. Why would anybody want to do that?), and the day she went out with Ben Beber then swore off men forever.
It was fun to hear what happened to everybody from my hometown, as well. A few people hadn't changed at all. Others I doubt I would recognize. Maybe someday I'll get to take a trip back to Kansas see for myself. After all, there's no place like home.

Oh, Angela! What fun! There are few things I enjoy more than catching up with someone I went to school with. I had a mini-reunion with a couple of friends from high school a few weeks ago...it was a BLAST! This fall is my 25-year high school reunion. I went to a small school--graduating class of 42 kids, not counting the one that got kicked out--so catching up with those I love most doesn't take much time, but it is so exhilarating for me. What a rush!
I'm sending you my ruby slippers!
My 10 year reunion is next year and there's a part of me that would like to catch up with some of the people. Some. ;-)
Such fun! That's the beautiful thing about good friends. 15 years is nothing more than a blink of the eye!
