Lauren is my Valentine's baby. At the hospital when she was born, she got a hand knit stocking cap with a heart on it and a quilt with a heart on it, too. This year she got a crazy birthday party at Pump It Up (an inflatables party place) and a Barbie cake. Isn't it amazing? My mother-in-law made it.

**sigh** My "baby" had a Barbie cake for her 5th birthday. So sweet. She's 12 now. So sad...
Your Lauren looks like she had a great birthday!! :o)
Hey Jenster,
I checked out your blog. It said you are a writer wannabe, too. What do you write?
Hi Angela -
I am currently writing a Erma Bombeck-type accounting of everything my family has dealt with since I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost two years ago.
I also have a couple children's chapter books started, but not yet finished - much to the chagrin of my kids.
I would love to be published someday, but even if I'm not I love the writing part. And the bio will be a great chronical for my family - so we don't forget what we went through and how we found humor - LOTS of humor in an otherwise tragic situation.
I meant to ask you what kind of novels you have written? Just the fact that you've actually finished two is amazing in itself! And you must be thrilled with the fact they're being considered for publication!
I love kids books. One of my novels is a mid-grade called THE WATER FIGHT PROFESSIONAL. I wrote a short story of the same name for an anthology then got to meet the publisher when she came to Boise.
My other novel is Contemporary Women's Christian Fiction titled FAKE BLONDE. The publisher requested a rewrite, like, 4-months-ago. I hope they like it, but if not I just agreed to sign with an agent.
Thanks for asking. Do you go to any writer's conferences? That's really good incentive for getting your books written.
